The use of geographic information systems (GIS) grew dramatically in the 1990s. It is now commonplace for academia to use GIS for many diverse applications.
Listed on this site, you will find campus resources as well as other Internet resources available to GIS users. This should facilitate the sharing of
information and projects between users.
There are also free online courses as well as discounted
courses that are available through UC Extension for faculty, staff and students.
Computing and Communications in collaboration with other groups on campus created this site to promote the use of GIS on the UCR campus and to provide a forum of communication for the campus community that is interested in working with GIS.
