The Map Collection is located on the Ground Floor of the Science Library at the University of California, Riverside. Our staff will help you find sheet maps, atlases, gazetteers, aerial photographs, and digital spatial data. Map related web sites have been chosen and linked to our searchable web resource: Maps & GIS INFOMINE

The map cases and alcove contain 100,000 sheet maps. The collection consists primarily of U.S. Geological Survey topographic and thematic maps, and map series of different countries of the world. Maps are shelved in call number order. Ask for help at the public service desk.

Most individual maps are not yet cataloged within SCOTTY, UCR Library's online catalog. Large atlases are shelved on special roller atlas shelves. Other atlases, reference materials and gazetteers are located on the shelves located farthest east. These materials are cataloged, and can be found in SCOTTY.

FREE Resources for Faculty and Students:
Geographic Information Systems software and digital geographic spatial data is available in the Electronic Cartographic Room. Equipment includes: two pc's using Windows NT, a plotter, color scanner, and printers. These are available for use with cartographic materials in the Map Collection This room is located at the basement floor of the Science Library
